GEOFFREY M. BIRINGER, Director of education & community services
Geoff is a graduate of Dickinson College and Dickinson School of Law, (now Penn State Dickinson School of Law) and has been a practicing attorney for over 40 years, primarily working in the non-profit sector for MidPenn Legal Services. Geoff’s broad experiences include bankruptcy law, unemployment compensation and family law. He also served as an adjunct professor, teaching law students at Widener University the fundamentals of practicing law in a civil law clinic.
Geoff directs the Education and Community Services Division of the PHRC. The division offers training to students, teachers, administrators and organizations on understanding Pennsylvania civil rights. The division is responsible for implementing the PHRC’s education equity program, which provides oversight and assistance to school districts struggling with student achievement issues.
The division also provides support to existing County/Regional Advisory Councils that work at the local level to provide education and assistance in their communities.
